How to connect Mage to ChatGPT
A Mage account is required; a guest session cannot connect an app.
Create an MCP app
Open ChatGPT Plugins, click Add, and choose Create MCP App. If it is missing, turn on Developer mode in Settings → Security and login.
Enter the Mage server
Enter Mage for Name, the server URL below for Server URL, and OAuth for Authentication. Leave the advanced OAuth settings blank; no client ID or secret is needed. Check the notice and click Create.

Sign in on the Mage page that opens, check the app name, and select Connect.
Use it in a chat
Install Mage from your Personal plugins, start a Work chat, and mention @Mage with what you want to create.

No. Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, Cursor, and Claude Code connect by signing in to Mage through OAuth. An API key is optional, for headless setups such as CI.
How much does it cost?
Connecting is free. Each generation your assistant starts is paid in Gems from your Mage account at the model’s listed price, and your assistant can quote the price with estimate_cost before it starts.
Which models does my assistant use?
Unless you name a model, your assistant makes images with Mango 3, video with Cherry 2 Pro, and audio with Seed Audio. You can ask for any other Mage model by name.
Is it safe to connect my Mage account?
Mage shows the app’s name, its site, and where you return before anything is shared, and you approve each connection. Disconnect any app at any time from MCP → Connected apps.
