The basics

What Meesho asks of catalog images

On Meesho you sell as a supplier and list products in catalogs, and each catalog goes through a quality check before it goes live. Meesho’s public supplier pages keep the image rules short: a sharp, clear front image of each product is required, more than one image is recommended, images should be JPEG files with no logo or watermark, and partial product images or images with props are not accepted. Its growth lessons add that high-quality images from multiple angles help a product sell. The detailed rules for each category sit inside the Supplier Panel. Last checked October 2026.

That leaves a lot to get right with a phone and a small budget. The front image has to show the whole product clearly with nothing else in the frame. The extra images have to add something the front cannot: the back, the side, the fabric, the border, the fit. And a catalog of five or ten designs should look like one collection, not ten different photo sessions in ten different rooms.

Mage does all of that from the photos you already have. Clean up the front image on a plain background, render the back and side with the Angles app, generate close-ups of zari, embroidery or a print, and put every kurti or lehenga in the catalog on the same saved model. Everything stays private in your account until you download it for the Supplier Panel.

A little more possibility

Why Meesho suppliers make catalog images on Mage

  • A clean front image

Keep the product, replace a cluttered room with a plain light background, and show the whole piece.

  • Back and side views

The Angles app shows the same product from the side or the back, with no second photo session.

  • Close-ups that sell the fabric

Generate a tight crop of the weave, the zari border or the embroidery for buyers who zoom.

  • One model for the whole catalog

Save a character once and dress them in every design with Outfit Swap, so the catalog looks like one shoot.

  • Cheap drafts for big catalogs

Mango 3 Turbo tries a background or a pose on every design before you run the finals on Mango 3.

  • In Hindi, and private

Mage’s app is available in Hindi, and nothing you make is public unless you post it.

From idea to creation

How do you make Meesho catalog images with AI?

It takes three steps, and it is free to start.

  1. Photograph each design

Flat or on a hanger, near a window in daylight, the whole piece in frame and the creases ironed out.

  2. Make the front image

In Mango 3, attach the photo and ask for a plain light background with the full product in frame and nothing else in the picture.

  3. Add the views buyers look for

Back and side views with Angles, fabric close-ups from a prompt, and a worn look on a saved model with Outfit Swap.

  4. Export and upload

Download, save as JPEG if the file is not one already, and add the images through the Supplier Panel’s image uploader.

Tips and techniques

Meesho’s image rules in practice (last checked October 2026)

Show the full product in the front image. Partial product images are not accepted, so the front image should show the whole kurti from neckline to hem, the whole saree with its pallu visible, the complete set of containers with every lid. If the product is long, use a portrait frame instead of cropping it, and leave a small margin so nothing touches the edge.

Leave the props out. Meesho does not accept images with props, so drop the vase, the cushions and the cup of chai that make a lifestyle photo. For the front image that is easy: a plain background and the product alone. For the extra images, a worn look on a model shows the fit without adding objects to the frame; keep the background plain there too.

No logo, no watermark, and keep text off the picture. Price, offers and phone numbers belong in the catalog fields, not on the image. If a manufacturer’s photo came with their watermark, do not paint it out and reuse it: photograph your own stock and build the images from that.

  • The whole product in the front image, nothing cut off.
  • A plain background, no props, no extra objects.
  • No logo, watermark, price or phone number on the image.
  • Save the final files as JPEG.
  • The same background and light across a catalog.

Tips and techniques

A catalog that looks like one shoot

Buyers scroll a Meesho catalog as a set, so consistency sells. Pick one background color, one light direction and one framing, and reuse the same words in every prompt: "plain warm off-white background, soft daylight from the left, full product centered, small margin." Change only the product. The catalog then reads as one collection even if you photographed the pieces on different days.

For clothing, save a model once as a character and use Outfit Swap to put each design on them: the face, pose and light stay the same, and only the garment changes. Check the drape against the real piece, especially the pleats and pallu of a saree or the border of a dupatta, because the model redraws the fabric and can simplify a complex drape. The AI virtual try-on guide goes deeper on garments.

For home and kitchen products, consistency means the same surface and the same camera height for every piece in the set, so a buyer can compare a steel tiffin with a glass container at a glance.

Tips and techniques

Detail shots that answer your buyers’ questions

Questions about value fashion tend to be about fabric and size: is it really cotton, how heavy is the work, is the border printed or woven. Answer them with images. A close-up of the weave, a crop of the embroidery, the back of a jhumka showing the hook, the inside of a kurta showing the stitching: each one is a prompt on top of your photo, and each one can head off a return.

Generated close-ups have one limit to respect. The model redraws texture, so it can make a fabric look finer than it is. Use close-ups to show what is really there, compare each one with the piece in your hand, and take a real macro photo with your phone for anything a buyer will judge closely, such as the weave of a cotton saree.

If your source photo is small or came compressed over WhatsApp, run it through Image Enhancer first. A sharper reference gives Mango cleaner edges around fine work like lace and zari, and the result holds up when a buyer zooms in on the app.

Getting ready for the Mega Blockbuster Sale and Diwali

Meesho’s Mega Blockbuster Sale arrives in the festive season, around Navratri and Diwali, when ethnic wear, home decor and gifts are in demand. Prepare catalogs weeks ahead: new designs need images, and old catalogs with weak front images are worth redoing before the traffic comes.

Keep the catalog images plain even then. Diyas, rangoli and marigolds belong in your WhatsApp and Instagram posts, not in the catalog, where they would count as props. Make those festive scenes separately on Mage from the same product photo, so the post and the catalog show the same piece.

Working in Claude or another AI assistant? The Product Photoshoot skill makes a set of shots from one phone photo and locks the product to it, and the Marketplace Listing Images skill builds a main image with secondary images. It ships rules for Amazon, Walmart, Etsy, eBay and Shopify, not Meesho, so paste the Meesho rules from this page into your request. Both are on the Mage skills page and run through the Mage connector.

Room to experiment

Phone photos as they are vs finished on Mage

A quick phone photo is how most catalogs start, and it is a good start. What fails QC or loses buyers is usually around the product, not the product itself.

The raw phone photo

  • A bed, a wall or a shop shelf in the background
  • A different light in every photo
  • Only the front, from one session
  • Small, compressed images that blur on zoom

Finished on Mage

  • A plain background and the whole product, nothing else
  • One background and light across the catalog
  • Back, side and close-ups from the same photo
  • Upscaled before upload so detail holds

Frequently asked questions

What are Meesho’s product image guidelines?
Meesho’s public supplier pages ask for a sharp, clear front image of each product, recommend more than one image, and ask for JPEG files with no logo or watermark, without partial product images or props. The detailed rules for each category are in the Supplier Panel. Last checked October 2026.
What size should Meesho product images be?
Meesho does not publish a pixel size on its public pages; the Supplier Panel shows the requirement for your category. Upload sharp images generated at 2K, which leaves buyers room to zoom on fabric and detail.
Can I use AI-generated images on Meesho?
We found no rule about AI images on Meesho’s public supplier pages as of October 2026. What QC checks is the image itself: the whole product, clear, no props, no logo or watermark. Start from a photo of the real product so the images match what buyers receive, and keep the color, print and work true to the piece.
Why was my Meesho catalog rejected for its images?
The usual image causes are a logo or watermark, props in the frame, a partial view of the product, and a blurry front image. Meesho’s QC lessons also list image link and image upload errors, which come from the file or the link rather than the picture. Fix the image and upload it again through the Supplier Panel.
Do Meesho images need a white background?
Meesho’s public pages do not name a background color. A plain, light background with only the product on it is the safe choice, since props are not accepted, and it keeps a catalog consistent.
How do I show a saree or kurti on a model without a photoshoot?
Save a model as a character on Mage, then use Outfit Swap with a photo of the garment, or mention the character by @handle in a prompt on Mango 3. Keep the background plain, leave out props, and compare the drape, border and print with the real piece before you upload.
Is Mage free for Meesho suppliers?
Mage is free to start with a one-time 300-Gem bonus and no watermark. Unlimited Mango and Guava at 1K and 2K start on Pro at $30 a month.
