AI TikTok Shop Images
Shoppers often reach your TikTok Shop page from a video, and the images have to back the video up. Make a front-view main image on pure white, the five-plus images a Good listing needs, and clips for the feed, all from your real product photo.

The basics
What TikTok Shop's image rules say
TikTok Shop's US Product Listing Policy lets you upload up to nine square images, one of them the main image. The main image must show the front of the product on a pure white background, as an objective, straightforward view of what is for sale. The other images must cover the front, back, sides, details and accessories, and can show features, usage, variations, styled scenes, close-ups and size comparisons, but not two images of the same angle. Every image must be at least 600 by 600 pixels, in color, with no added logos, text, borders, watermarks or graphics covering the product. Only what the customer receives may appear, and placeholders and digital renderings of a product are not allowed.
A separate policy, dated September 2026, covers AI. TikTok allows AI-generated content when it accurately represents the real product, and lists what it does not allow: changing the product's size, color, shape, features or performance; placing it next to people, furniture, homes, vehicles, doors or walls in a way that creates false scale; making a flat printed item look carved, layered or embossed; replacing a toy or plush with a real animal; and adding glow, light, motion or special effects that suggest functions the product does not have.
Listing quality is graded too. To reach TikTok's Good tier, a listing needs five or more images of the main product, fashion listings should include at least one image of a real human model, and TikTok warns against galleries built from a single base photo with only the color or clothing edited. These are the US rules as we last checked them in October 2026, linked at the bottom of this page; other regions publish their own.
A little more possibility
Why TikTok Shop sellers make listing images on Mage
Pure white from your own photo
Edit the real front-view photo onto pure white, so the main image is your product and not a rendering.
Five to nine distinct images
Styled scenes, usage shots and close-ups from one photo, each a different angle or setting, never the same shot twice.
Prompts that keep it true
Lock size, color and shape in the first line of every prompt, the way TikTok's AI rules expect.
Clips for the feed
Animate the same product photo into a vertical clip with Cherry 2 Pro, up to 30 seconds with sound.
Square by default
Generate every image in 1:1, the ratio TikTok recommends, at 2K, far past the 600-pixel minimum.
Private until you post
Drafts and test images stay in your account until you choose to use them.
From idea to creation
How do you make TikTok Shop images with AI?
It takes three steps, and it is free to start.
Photograph the real product
Shoot the front, back and sides, and each variant you sell. TikTok does not accept renderings, so these photos are the base.
Make the main image
In Mango 3, attach the front photo and ask for a pure white background, the whole product, square frame, nothing added.
Fill the gallery
Add usage, styled and close-up images from your photos until the listing has five to nine distinct images.
Add a clip, then check
Animate a product photo for the feed, and compare every image with the product before you publish.
Tips and techniques
The main image: the real product, the front, pure white
Because TikTok does not allow digital renderings, the main image has to start as a photo of the product. Shoot the front straight on, then attach the photo to Mango 3 and say what stays before what changes: "Keep the product exactly as in the photo, same size, color, shape and label. Replace the background with pure white. Front view, the whole product centered in a square frame, no shadow on the backdrop, nothing added." Compare the result with the real product; the model redraws it, and a printed detail can drift.
If the product itself changed, use Inpaint instead: tap Background, describe pure white, and only the background is repainted. Export square: TikTok recommends 1:1, accepts anything between 3:4 and 4:3, and takes JPG, JPEG and PNG files up to 10 MB in its product form. A 2K square from Mango 3 clears the 600-pixel floor several times over.
- Front physical view, whole product.
- Pure white background.
- No logos, text, borders, stickers or watermarks.
- Only what the customer receives.
- Square, at least 600 by 600 pixels.
Tips and techniques
Five to nine images that reach the Good tier
Plan the gallery as a set of different views, because TikTok does not allow two images of the same angle and grades listings with fewer than five images of the main product below Good. A full set covers the front on white, the back, a side, a close-up of the material or a key feature, the accessories, a usage scene, a styled scene and a size comparison.
Generate the scenes, and photograph the angles. A usage or styled scene built from your real photo is the kind of image TikTok lists as allowed. The back and the sides should come from the camera: Angles can move the viewpoint of a photo, but it can only guess at sides the camera never saw, and TikTok's AI rules forbid images that change a product's shape or features.
For fashion, shoot at least one photo of a real person wearing the item, because TikTok asks for a real human model in fashion listings. Generated scenes can fill the other slots around it.
In Claude, Codex or Cursor, the Product Photoshoot skill on the Mage skills page makes the scene slots in one pass: lifestyle, close-up with a person and carousel shots, each a different angle or setting, with the product's shape, colors and label locked to your photo. Mage's Marketplace Listing Images skill does not list TikTok Shop among its marketplaces, so make the main image yourself with the prompt below.
Tips and techniques
TikTok's AI rules, turned into prompt habits
Each rule in TikTok's AI policy maps to something you write, or leave out, of a prompt. Start every prompt with the lock: "Keep the product exactly as in the reference, same size, color, shape and features." Put the product next to objects of known size in a scale shot, and never let it stand larger than it is beside a person, a sofa or a door. Describe printed or flat items as flat: a sticker sheet is "flat printed paper", not "embossed". Keep toys as toys, and leave out glows, sparkles, motion trails and light effects the product does not produce.
Variants need the most care. TikTok warns against galleries where one base photo is recolored for every color, and its listing policy asks for each variation to be a unique and accurate image. Photograph every color or style once and use each photo as the reference for its own scenes, with a different angle or setting for each, rather than asking a model to paint the other colors.
- Lock size, color, shape and features in line one.
- Show scale only against things of true size.
- Describe flat items as flat.
- No glow, motion or effects the product lacks.
- One real photo per variant.
Tips and techniques
From listing images to feed videos
Many shoppers meet a TikTok Shop product in a video before they open the listing, and the listing itself takes a product video in any ratio from 9:16 to 16:9. Cherry 2 Pro animates a product photo into a clip of 4 to 30 seconds at up to 1080p, with sound, so the same photo that made your main image can open your next post. The AI product video generator and AI UGC video generator pages cover product clips and creator-style videos in depth. The same rule holds there as on the listing: the product in the video should be the product that ships.

Try these prompts
TikTok Shop prompts to start from
Attach your own product photo to each, and keep the first sentence as written.
Main image on pure white
Keep the product exactly as in the photo, same size, color, shape and label. Replace the background with pure white. Front view, the whole product centered in a square frame, nothing added.
Usage scene
Keep the portable blender exactly as in the reference, same size, color and shape. On a gym bench beside a water bottle and a folded towel, bright morning light, 35mm, square frame.
True-scale comparison
Keep the mini speaker exactly as in the reference, true to its real size. Resting in an open palm beside a smartphone on a light wooden desk, soft daylight, square frame.
Material close-up
Keep the knit beanie exactly as in the reference, same color and stitch. A macro close-up of the ribbed cuff and the woven label, soft side light, square frame.
Feed clip from a product photo
The serum bottle from the image on a bathroom shelf. A hand lifts the dropper and a single drop falls back into the bottle, slow push-in, soft morning light, the label sharp and unchanged.
Room to experiment
A template gallery vs a Good-tier gallery
TikTok grades listings, and the habits that save time with AI are often the ones it marks down. Here is the difference between a gallery built for speed and one built for TikTok's rules.
Habits TikTok flags
- One base photo recolored for every variant
- Several images from the same angle
- Price stickers and text on the main image
- A rendering in place of a product photo
- Effects and glows the product does not have
What a Good listing shows
- A real photo of each variant as its reference
- Five to nine distinct views and scenes
- A clean main image on pure white
- Your own photo as the start of every image
- Scenes that keep size, color and shape true
