A free AI image generator should let you make real images without paying, without a watermark across the result, and without handing your pictures to a public feed. Plenty of free tools give you one of those three. Draft small and finish big. Work out the composition at 1K, then run the final at a higher resolution, or upscale the keeper with the Image Enhancer. Changing one part of the prompt per run tells you what each change does, which wastes fewer generations than rewriting from scratch every time.

If a picture is almost right, fix the part that is wrong rather than regenerating everything: the AI image editor repaints only the area you mask and leaves the rest alone.
