FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is a Mage skill?

A skill is a folder of instructions an AI agent loads when a request matches it. Mage skills teach the agent a complete job, such as a product photoshoot or an ad resize, and run it with Mage’s image, video, and audio models.

Which agents can use Mage skills?

Claude, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and any agent that loads Agent Skills from SKILL.md files. The prompts on this page also work in ChatGPT and Grok with the Mage connector.

Do skills need the Mage connector?

Yes. The skills call the Mage connector’s tools to price, generate, and fetch results, so connect Mage to your assistant once from the MCP page.

How much do skills cost?

The skills are free. Each generation they start is paid in Gems from your Mage account at the model’s price, and your assistant quotes it before it creates anything.

Are Mage skills open source?

Yes. They are MIT-licensed on GitHub at github.com/mage-space/skills, so you can read, fork, and adapt them.

How do I update the skills?

Run npx skills add mage-space/skills again, or /plugin update mage@mage in Claude Code.

Bring Mage into your agent

Connect Mage once, add the skills, and ask for the finished work.
