How it works

How to use the Character Builder skill

List the traits
Gender is required. Add any of ethnicity, hair, skin, body, eyes, face, nose, features, age, and clothing.
Get a portrait
Guava renders a full-body studio portrait at 4:5 for a few Gems. Change a trait and run again until it’s right.
Save the character
Name them and save them as an @handle, then make a reference sheet with Character Sheet.

Frequently asked questions

Is it the same as the Character Builder: Attributes app?

Yes. The skill sends the Character Builder: Attributes app’s own prompt with the same models and defaults, so your agent gets the app’s results from a chat, and can run it on many images in one go.

Which traits can I set?

Gender, ethnicity, hair color, length, and style, skin tone, body type, eye color and shape, face and nose shape, facial features such as freckles or glasses, age, and clothing, each from the app’s fixed list.

Can I tweak a face I like?

Each run is a new person, so for small changes to one face, move to the Character Muse skill with that portrait.

Do I need to install anything?

Connect the Mage connector to your assistant once; that is all a prompt needs. Adding the skill (npx skills add mage-space/skills, the Claude Code plugin, or an upload in Claude under Customize → Skills) makes your agent follow its full workflow every time.

How much does it cost?
